Samen met Universal Music brengt Amnesty International een speciaal album met maar liefst vier cd's uit met liedjes van Bob Dylan, uitgevoerd door 80 verschillende bekende muzikanten. Deze fantastische collectie met bijdrages van onder andere Adele, Sting, Lenny Kravitz, Johnny Cash en Maroon 5 noemde The New York Times als 'jaw dropping'. Alle opbrengsten van de compilatie worden gedoneerd aan Amnesty International. Vijftig jaar geleden begon de negentienjarige Bob Dylan zijn professionele carrière als gitarist in een koffiehuis in Greenwich Village, New York. In datzelfde jaar lanceerde de Britse advocaat Peter Benenson een campagne om op te komen voor gewetensgevangenen: mensen die gevangenzitten omdat ze op vreedzame wijze uiting hebben gegeven aan hun overtuigingen. Die campagne groeide uit tot een mensenrechtenbeweging, Amnesty International. Door de jaren heen waren er muzikanten die Amnesty's inspirerende en gepassioneerde bondgenoten wilden zijn. Samen streden we tegen onrecht. Het is met grote trots dat we nu de release van een uitzonderlijk album kunnen aankondigen: Chimes of Freedom, songs van Bob Dylan ter ere van vijftig jaar Amnesty International. Meer dan tachtig artiesten doneerden in totaal 73 nummers. Bijna allemaal komen die voor de eerste keer uit. Het resultaat is een uitzonderlijk en gevarieerd album, waarop tachtig muzikanten getuigen van hun inzet voor de mensenrechten.
